This project demonstrates the fundamental philosophy and methodology of the Bonacci Group lateral thinking, commitment to buildability and economy, and ability to produce quality design/documentation on a very short programme.

The original consultant team appointed by Government (Bonacci Group were not involved), failed to achieve a design which met the cost or programme constraints for the project. We were subsequently asked to consider the project with the Grollo Group, to see if the necessary economies in cost and time could be realised. By identifying the main structural elements contributing to construction difficulty and cost, and putting forward a range of alternatives to simplify the structure whilst maintaining the functionality and aesthetics intact, we were able to achieve the necessary savings which allowed the project to proceed.
The development comprises convention facilities for 2,500 delegates, in excess of 10,000 square metres of exhibition space, theatres, banquet hall and meeting areas making up the convention centre. It also includes a 400 room international standard hotel built above the Yarra River and has a nearby multi-deck carpark for 800 cars.
