The wharf is 250 metres long by 30 metres wide, with a cast-in-situ concrete deck of 450mm minimum thickness.

This project was won on an alternative tender with Clough Engineering. The deck is supported by 800mm diameter steel piles 16 metres above the mud. Lateral resistance is provided by groups of raking piles at three strong points. The deck is designed for crane loads and containers stacked up to three high. The design point load on the deck is 67 tonnes.
The deck is a banded slab system with 5.4 metre internal slab spans and 650mm deep x 1500mm wide band beams spanning 4.6 metres. Details provided included 50 tonne and 100 tonne bollards, crane rails, tender supports, storm anchors, access ladders, cable recesses, cable trays and fuel, water and waste water pipework and supports.
