Bonacci Group supports and invests in students (who are Australian Citizens or those who have permanent Residency) who are completing their penultimate year of a Bachelor of Civil\Structural Engineering by providing vacation employment during the period of end of November through to the end of February. (Bonacci does shut down over the Christmas break).

Structural Engineer - Auckland, New Zealand

Bonacci Group is an established market leader in Structural Engineering within Australia which competes for high end $1Billion plus projects.  With many years of industry experience, we are in a period of growth within the New Zealand market and we are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to our Auckland office.

The role will require the successful candidate to prepare and co-ordinate the design documentation of projects from the concept phase through to contract documentation for various types of structures in high-rise, education, health, retail and other commercial sectors.  This role includes site inspections and liaising with clients and other stakeholders.

As the successful candidate you will have:
Completion of a recognized Professional Engineering qualifications with eligibility to become a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand

- Circa 4-8+ years of post graduate professional experience as a Structural Engineer, ideally from a consultancy/design background.  Candidates who are currently overseas but have past NZ based experience will also be considered.
- Experience in the design of commercial, industrial, high-rise, education and health care buildings.
- Experience in the design of structural steel/timber framed structures, masonry and reinforced concrete with PT concrete being a distinct advantage.
- Seismic design experience within the New Zealand seismic environment is essential
- Strong practical and technical ability, and  conceptual understanding
- A good knowledge of New Zealand Building Codes and Standards
- A pro-active and technically confident approach to work
- Solid ability in the use of structural software packages such as Microstran, Etabs, RAPT, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven organization skills
- The right to work in New Zealand

Senior Structural Draftsperson - Auckland, New Zealand

Bonacci Group is an established market leader in Structural Engineering within Australia which competes for high end $1Billion plus projects. With many years of industry experience, we are in an exciting period of growth within the New Zealand market and we are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Draftsperson with strong REVIT Structure skills and leadership experience to join our Auckland office.

The role will require the successful candidate to mentor and support the drafting team as well as the preparation of structural engineering design drawings for a range of projects including education, health, retail and other commercial structures, assistance in project delivery, management of project files, correspondence and documents, and liaison with all associated consultants and clients as required.

To be considered for the role of Senior Structural Draftsperson you will require;

A recognised Structural drafting certificate / engineering qualification
- 10 years+ structural drafting experience in low-to-high rise building structures in the education, health, retail and other commercial structures within New Zealand.
Excellent Revit Structure experience with at least 3 – 5 years recent project based experience applying these skills to a wide variety of commercial projects within New Zealand.
- Ability to support and mentor the drafting team
Experience with reinforced concrete, post-tensioned and steel framed buildings
A competent knowledge and understanding of structural design and construction
- A comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Standards
Good communication and presentation skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Accountability for work quality
- Ability to work both autonomously under minimal supervision and within a team environment
- The successful applicant will need to be a New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency.
